This service is intended to be family focused, and comes with the long standing tradition of having all children in attendance dress up and participate in the service in some way, usually in an adaptation of a pageant. Christmas eve is a time to feel the presence of god coming to you. Like you do each year, go to the mat fighting to get it held at 4 p.m. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
