200 Amp Service Wire Size Copper. Connection (copper wire) size shall be a minimum of #4 awg from each electrode to the panel’s neutral bus. What size wire would i have to use to run from a 200 amp 240 v disconnect to a structure that is 1300 feet away to avoid unacceptable voltage drop?
Over here in my area., the 200 amp residentails typically use 4/0 alum and some case if have to use copper for 200 amp residentails then use 2/0 but for gec all copper no alum due that size service typically have brick or cement wall and it will eat up alum conductor if not done right. National electrical code, table 250.122. Put in your voltage 85' and expected full load.
Up one size for each 100 ft.
Is the 200 amp service worth the extra expense? Sold by the foot cut to length. This conductor may need to be increased in size for any of several reasons, including the length of the run, available fault current or other reasons that would fill a book. I am not sure what size wire to use.
